Creativity is often shunned as an unimportant quality in business or even success. However, creativity is an exceptional quality to possess that many of us are never able to express completely.

Society tends to disapprove and discourage creativity as a means of governing what people think and keep them on a particular path in life. Schools also limit our creativity when growing up, forcing children to learn content that will very quickly be forgotten. Instead, children should be free to express their creativity and celebrate it.

Society suppresses creativity in children because it wants to limit their ability to think. This leads us to become average people living at a basic level. When we reach the age of finding a job, our creativity has been stripped to the point where we find a job that is “easy” and effortless and does not allow us to explore our innate creativity. We become slaves to society.

Think in all directions

Why do we not know what we want out of life? Simple- society tells us what they expect from us, rather than to create ideas of our own. What will set you apart in the business world is not a fancy resume, but the way you make use of your creativity to solve problems. Rather than complaining about a problem, you put your creative side to work and problem-solve.

We need to start believing that our creativity has a place in the working world nowadays. Creative problem-solving skills are becoming more and more important for leaders in business to lead their teams and flourish in your career as well as life in general.

In today’s society pressure is placed on getting results and getting them quickly. Brainstorming is avoided and we are unable to experiment without judgment. Creativity should be encouraged in the workplace and get people excited to explore new ideas.

Creativity pushes passion. We need to allow ourselves the opportunity in everyday routines to do things we enjoy without critical judgment. Creative thinking should be enjoyable and encourage us to find new, better ways to do things and push beyond any boundaries.

Stop worrying about money when allowing your creativity to blossom. When you truly let your creativity reign, the rewards, like money and praise will result. When you love what you do, you can truly live your life to the full. Every day will bring exciting new challenges for you to dive in head-first, putting your creative mind to work. Once you reach this point, you will be in a position to inspire others, feed off of each other’s’ creativity and collaborate to truly achieve greatness.

Creativity and innovation go hand-in-hand and without either, we would probably still be cavemen. The world’s most creative individuals set aside time every day to simply be creative, brainstorm new ideas and just allow their minds to wander into ideas they never knew existed.
